Placement Cell

An integral part of the career development programme is placement, which is undertaken by Training and Placement Cell (TPC) of the college to provide the students with training, counselling, arrange guest lectures and visits, placement drives and interviews. The function of the Placement cell is actively intertwined with the academics to build up the overall capability of the students as a confident and amicable person, ready to take on any challenge the world may throw upon, not merely for a job.

The Training & Placement in St. Wilfred’s College facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up of internship and training programs for students.

Training and Placement Cell alaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. The Training & Placement Cell provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests and interviews besides catering to other logistics. Training and Placement cell interacts with many industries in the country, of which nearly 200 companies visit the campus for holding campus interviews. The industries which approach enabled services Manufacturing Industries, Consultancy Firms, IT companies, Finance Companies, Management Organisations, R & D laboratories.

The placement season runs through the course, Pre-Placement Talks are also conducted in this regard as per mutual convenience. Job offers, dates of interviews, selection of candidates etc. are announced through the Training & Placement Cell. The Placement Cell is assisted by a committee comprising representatives of students from the under-graduate and postgraduate with all streams. The Training and Placement committee evolves a broad policy framework every year besides a set of rules which are inviolable. Students members are closely co-opted in implementing these policy decisions.

Placement Process

The students are free to apply for companies offering jobs in their opted specialization through placement cell.

No applications from students in response to the press advertisements or to the organizations which have not notified the Training Placement Cell (TPC) about their requirements shall be entertained by the (TPC).

The student should inform TPC if they have earlier applied for the same company on their own.

If a company has approached the TPC or is in the process of approaching the TPC for placements, no student shall approach any of these companies on their own, except through the TPC Team. Students should submit a soft copy of their CV along with a photo to the TPO before the start of placements.

Language learning programmes to train students in developing their communication skills and foreign language skills.

Students are advised to keep sufficient copies of resume, passport size photos, etc. ready so as to submit it as per the requirement of the company. Making several copies of the resume is, therefore, desirable.
